Résumé

Help your child learn to read and write with 100 engaging activities to develop phonic knowledge, from early sound recognition to reading and writing fluency, for ages 3-7. As soon as children start their journey through education, they will have some access to phonics teaching. But for parents it can be confusing as the internet is saturated with phonics information. This book provides parents, carers and educators with an accessible, comprehensive resource and fun, engaging ways to teach phonics with easy-to-create activities, all of which use objects you probably already have at home.
Read, Write, Play covers each phase of your child's phonics journey, beginning with initial sound recall and ending with the knowledge of irregular plurals and suffixes. Children learn best by doing, so in this book there are 100 activities that are designed to be enjoyed with your child time and time again. Using just 10 simple resources, you can recreate each activity in 5 minutes, perfect for fitting around a busy lifestyle.
Rooted in play and explained simply, Read, Write, Play is the go-to guide for anyone who wishes to know more about phonics and support the children in their care as they learn to read and write. Most of all, it shows that phonics can be fun!
