Growing up is hard, even if you're already technically an adult. In Shoes and Igloos, Seth is a man in his mid-twenties living in Chicago who spends less time working than playing video games and bothering Billy, his strange neighbor. Billy is a middle-aged cobbler with a mysterious past who has an almost childlike naivete. Together they find a need to build something more out of their lives. This novel takes us on their journey (and on a road trip to the Rockies) as they learn to deal with their own fears through a process of self-discovery, and does so with relatable insights and a surprising sense of humor.
Seth is tongue-tied around his love interest. Billy accidentally finds one of his own. A hot dog salesman is the foil. What can go wrong?
