Alma's story encourages the readers to engage their critical thinking while exploring religions, to inspire investigation and to emphasize the need of a guide should they choose to dive deeper into any mystic path. She was born and raised in an ex-USSR Satelite republic and so you will find a couple of stories reminiscent of that time.
