Résumé

Life in 1876 and 1877, in Texas. Rayford Coleman built his wealth capturing criminals Texas wanted Dead Or Alive after his time in the Army that ended during the war between the states. Christopher Haskins has been a deputy sheriff for eight years. Herb Hollis was reported to have killed his step-father, mother and younger brother. The bounty for him is nine hundred dollars. Chris was paid ten dollars each month.
Thoughts of having nine hundred dollars had his hopes sky high. Sheriff Bill Tillman warned Chris of the danger but let him borrow three sets of wrist shackles. Becoming partners with Neal Forrester proved to be handsomely rewarding with the knowledge Neal had of the location of bandits living along the banks of a small river and the valuables they had buried. Following the advice of a woman he was associated with for a short time proved to be lucrative many times over.
Organizing a group of men, Chris continued the work Rayford started ten years earlier of lessening the criminal population in East Texas. Established on the ranch he had built, Chris is a target for men who lost their family members and men wanting ransom for his return after being abducted. Chris did not enjoy the life that came with the wealth he accumulated Everyday is an adventure for Chris and those people around him.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Ronald D. Walker

Child of the Baby Boomers. Wanna be Hippie, just could not afford the counterculture of drugs, psychedelic music, psychedelic art and social permissiveness. I especially could not afford the flower covered van. The culture was alluring and rebellion of any form was espoused by hot blooded Americans and many of us followed in our own fashion, leading to social invitations to see the world given by some law enforcement type person.
I became a Veteran of the beginning of the Viet Nam era. I was a brilliant teenager which was both unknown and unappreciated by my superiors for three years two months and six days. I left the military with mixed emotions; joy and happiness. My stomach was removed in 1980 and my life style changed. I became an over the road truck owner operator for more than thirty years. I have seen our country from a different view than most ever will and parts of our world few will ever see.
Writing since 1990, when I could. Love the way a good story flows. Hate the transitions in the middles when the flow stops. Labor with the how to and again write and edit and edit, to a point of satisfaction that I have tried. And I will try again with another book. A good idea makes a good story line and an enjoyable book. It is my hope that my books are entertaining and enjoyable.
