It states that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. #4 The Declaration of Independence rightly stands as the formal, consensus proclamation for America's independence and founding.
It was adopted by the Second Continental Congress in July 1776, after the battles of Lexington and Concord.
