There are currently two very different speeches when talking about FRENCH SOCIETY: one, which celebrates the good health of the economy and the other, which deplores the widening of the social divide. THE FIRST argues that France has a healthy economy, well armed in the face of international competition; in general terms, IT IS THE SPEECH OF THE "EXPERTS" AND THE RULERS. As for the SECOND SPEECH, it is a ghost of the same ruling class that feels increasingly separated from the rest of the nation.
Although the competitiveness and profitability of French companies are undeniable, it is not possible to stop there. It is the speech that maintains that "EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL EXCEPT UNEMPLOYMENT". But society must be understood precisely here, starting from its weakest link. The reader is offered a summary with the essentials of chapters 1 and 2 of the book: "The two sufferings" and "The new era of inequalities."
