In this her new book Adetutu Ijose is seeking to shed light on another computer use induced health problem - Adult and Teenage texting addictionsThis is the art of compulsive desire for texting and thereby replacing most direct person to person forms of communication with texting a form of communication that takes place via an artificial medium requiring no physical contact either by voice or bodily.
The artificial medium, the cell phone is really a computer though not marketed or described as such. Hence safety gained by not placing the device close to the shin is replaced by exposure to toxic artificial light and its potential for devastating health consequences over time including addiction and risky behaviors that accompany any form of addiction. Sending text messages by cell phones has become the choice of communication employed by most teenagers and many adults in today's world.
Less talked about is the fact that it has now become an addiction for many with consequent health effects many do not associate with their insatiable desire for texting. This issue becomes worrying when the issue of sexting (the art of sending naked or near nude photographs by text) and cyber bulling are factored in. This book addresses the issue of texting addiction from all angles providing all with important information many are unaware of in order to provide an opportunity for all to bring back some control into their lives and avoid unnecessary self-destruction.
