Résumé

A former adversary, convinced Nigel's an angel, talks him into searching for her lost husband and the silver mine he sought-not knowing that her son craves vengeance. Mama Walsh took a bullet for her son, only to wake from her injury with a vision of Nigel Rowe-anthropologist turned adventure host-as the angel who saved her life. Surely, he's the man who can find her missing husband and put things to right in her life.
Intrigued-and knowing a ratings boost when he hears one-Nigel agrees, so long as her murderous son Cameron isn't involved. Alas for him, Cam's the one pushing his mother's wacky theories, hoping to get Nigel's head in his sights at last. With the help of his dead brother's corpse, and his old prison buddies, Cam plans for an ambush in the mountains north of Cabo San Lucas. He's even got a secret weapon it took a few more murders to acquire. Nigel's bodyguard, unable to talk him out of it, gears up for battle as they search for clues in the pages of old letters and rumors of ghosts in the hills. In the wilds of the high sierra, one false step could send this would-be angel straight to purgatory.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de E. Chris Ambrose

E. Chris Ambrose also writes dark historical fantasy novels as E. C. Ambrose: the Dark Apostle series about medieval surgery, from DAW Books. Developing that series made the author into a bona fide research junkie.  Interests include the history of technology and medicine, Mongolian history and culture, Medieval history, and reproductive biology of lizards.  Research has taken her to Germany, England, France, India, Nepal, China and Mongolia as well as many United States destinations.  In the process, E.
C. learned how to hunt with a falcon, clear a building of possible assailants, pull traction on a broken limb, and fire an AR-15. Published works have appeared in Warrior Women, Fireside magazine, YARN online, Clarkesworld, several volumes of New Hampshire Pulp Fiction, and Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. The author is both a graduate of and an instructor for the Odyssey Writing workshop, and a participant in the Codex on-line writers' workshop. In addition to writing, E.
C. works as an adventure guide, teaching rock climbing and leading hiking, kayaking, climbing and mountain biking camps.  Past occupations include founding a wholesale sculpture business, selecting stamps for a philatelic company, selling equestrian equipment, and portraying the Easter Bunny on weekends.
