Résumé

The pink Kimberley diamond from the mines of Western Australia are the most valuable gemstones in the world. The Diamond industry thrives around Lake Argyle and it attracts all manner of men intent on making their fortune. Graham Biel is one such individual keen to find riches as quickly as he can and he allows nobody or anything to stand in his way. Brian Doyle is of a similar persuasion and he heads north from the city of Perth with his newly met partner Sharon Kidman to take his place in the quest for riches.
After an unsuccesful stint in the goldfields around Payne's Find, Doyle and Kidman head further north to the Argyle area where they meet up with Graham Biel who offers them a partnership in his newly purchased Diamond Atlas mine. A few months pass and Doyle successfully manages  Biel's mine, but he looks further afield for more easy money. He involves himself in the the lucrative illegal immigrant business out of Ashmore Reef close the Indonesian coast where he sets up his immigrant smuggling operation.
Greg Langford, a government investigative officer arrives in Kununurra close to the mine and delves into Biels murky business enterprises and the criminal past of Doyle while working in the goldfields. Greg Langford brings both of these men to justice after a long and arduous pursuit that takes him to Djakarta and Ashmore Reef to rescue the hapless immigrants. This is a fast paced thriller that delves into the murky world of the criminal element intent on making money from the misfortune of others.
Greg Langford will immediately resonate with the inatate sense of justice inherent in all honest people.
