In 1896, Columbia Professor of logic and ethics, Dr. James H. Hyslop's stated his lectures "on the Greek ethics attributed to Plato, Socrates and Aristotle is an attempt to reduce the conceptions of Greek ethics to the same terms as those in which modern problems in this field express themselves. Too many philosophers merely transliterate the language of antiquity instead of translating it.
