This 4, 700 word short story takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A woman gives birth to a magical child who is born in a radiant glow of angelic light. As the child grows it becomes apparent to everyone that he is a special kid. Everyone loves him because he is happy, interesting, and he unites neighbors to do good in the community. The kid moves on to the next realm, but visits his mother in a dream and gives her magical powers which she must later in life pass on to the right person at the right time.
He tells her she will just know who and when the time is right. One of the powers he gives her is long life, which she uses to do good things. The story takes place over a few hundred years. One thing, however, stays the same: The love a mother feels for her child.
