The Lost Knight: Inspired by My Son's Resilience. I have always been drawn to the world of fiction, but it wasn't until my son Brandon came into my life that I began to entertain the notion of writing and eventually found what I feel is my true calling. Despite being born with Cerebral Palsy and facing daily challenges since birth, Brandon radiates joy and positivity. He lives vicariously, much like all of us do from time to time, and fnds immense pleasure in action movies.
He dreams of stepping into the shoes of those characters-the heroes depicted on screen-who sweep us away for a moment, an hour, or even a day. They allow our imaginations to carry us to uncharted territories, if only momentarily, letting us bask in a life unknown. With his fun-loving and great sense of humor, Brandon jokingly refers to himself as Keanu Reeves-but perhaps that's this week; Tom Selleck or Jason Statham may be just around the corner.
You never know where tomorrow can take us when we believe and see the world through another's eyes. As a thirty-year law enforcement veteran in Canada, I have seen my fair share of hardships and triumphs. However, nothing compares to the lessons I have learned from my son. He has taught me that the power of the mind is the greatest weapon one can possess and no challenge is too great to overcome with a positive attitude and a smile on your face. In my personal time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family and my loyal five-year-old German shepherd, Tess.
She is more than just a pet; she is a member of our family and fiercely protective of those she loves. I wrote The Lost Knight to pay homage to the extraordinary bravery and resilience of individuals faced with physical challenges and to remind everyone that, no matter what obstacles they encounter, the human mind possesses incredible power to overcome adversity. So, close your eyes, and let your imagination soar to places where dreams take flight and fears are overcome.
