The Odic Touch explores the notion of psychic vampires: individuals with the supernatural ability to recharge themselves on the energy of others. These characters are central to the novel, which finds recent widower Dusty Foster learning of his abilities. Dusty arrives at his uncle's community center for "Odic thieves" just as a new serial killer, dubbed the Lake Olmstead Leech because of his blood-drinking habit and method of disposal, begins his deadly work in Augusta, GA; work that seems connected to the Odic Center members.
This case is not the concern of Detective Harold Argo, who is convinced that Dusty Foster has murdered his wife; not until evidence implicates Dusty as a Leech suspect, that is.
