This book offers alternatives to traditional counseling and therapy, advocating for the shift towards coaching instead. In my journey to resilience, I found little to no help from therapy, counseling, or even Western medicine. After losing two sons in one day, my world turned upside down. On the first day of this tragedy, I was prescribed a medication for depression, which ultimately led to an accidental overdose.
Despite being in counseling at the time, my life continued to spiral downward. My oldest daughter recognized the need for a different approach and intervened by taking me to our wellness doctor and calling my Reiki master to visit me. My wellness doctor discarded my prescription medications and switched me to an all-natural supplement. Meanwhile, my Reiki master visited me three times a week for the following two weeks.
The astonishing results began to manage my emotions and allow me to move forward with my life. This experience set me on a new path. I delved into the study of trauma and decided to take a life coaching class. Taking these classes was pivotal, and I finally found the final piece of the puzzle. I realized I had discovered a powerful method to help people build resilience when traditional therapy and counseling were ineffective.
