Résumé

Fairytale princesses and their happily ever after. But what of fairytale Queens who are left pining away?Following each merry festival held for the Queen, a selection of the kingdom's finest men are assessed to match her beauty through their merits. The man she chooses will lay with her for the night, despite the will of his lover. From the tongues of pale, old men, it is rumored that the man she lays down with is doomed to lose his sexual appendage after a night in her passionate embrace; gored by painful, bloody dismay.
For the good people of Calrisia however, this is only a myth cobbled by jealous men past their prime. Amongst the men who desire her, but cannot fall into the Queen's graces, often determined as overzealous - they are banished. Whether it be their inadequacy, managing to offend her image, or by discernment of the Queen's guard, each banished man is sent to the wastelands outside Calrisia's walls; with no way of return and where certain death awaits.
Here, the banished of Calrisia wander these lands of molten rock and lava: shared by strange beasts and accursed souls. One man is fated to offend the Queen as such, a young clocksmith, who stubbornly believes he will end her undying search for the perfect mate. When his luck turns for the worst, a cultivating love will be found in the wastelands before his certain death is met. A stranger, however, intervenes with his inevitable fate.
Guiding the clocksmith to the bestowed title: "Champion of the Wastelands", with the help of unexpected friends. Through the horrors that await beyond her kingdom's walls; the only banished man that has, or ever will, return to the Queen's kingdom is the one who will match the deathless flame in her eye. Maturity: Very Explicit and Tragic
