It's September 1954 and Marie Valentine has been happily married to her husband Bill for seven years. In the years they've been together she's never looked at another man, let alone wanted one. That all changes when a drifter named James rents a room in their home and ignites a longing inside Marie that she can't quench with her husband. Despite her efforts to use her husband as a substitute for James, soon it is not enough for her. She loves her husband but she is afraid that it won't be enough to keep her from the man who stirs in her a desire the likes of which she has never felt before.
