Who will survive the Horizon when it comes? Trapped on the planet Sixe, Suu fulfils his dream and joins an elite group of soldiers, known as Spectres. They are charged with the defence of the city Maeda from the Revival - an insurgency born in the neighbouring city of Stratos. Every year, the Stratons face death from the destruction wrought by the planet itself - the Horizon - while the Maens remain safe within their city's wall.
The Revival will terrorise those that are safe from the planet's wrath until they open Maeda's gate to them, so that all are protected and not just the privileged few. Suu joins the Spectre Corps to lead a life of glamour and comfort, wanting to be revered by all. However, he soon discovers the inevitable price of the position he so desperately desired - he must risk his life to protect the Maen's haven.
