Jo fits into the small community by working as a nanny for an acquaintance. Her friendship with a married man causes gossip, and Jo finds herself at loggerheads with large sections of the community. When things unravel,  Jo is left vulnerable and defenceless against her husband's bullying behaviour. When the problems are resolved, can Jo return to Mountain View, or is she destined to travel further looking for a home?
