Tommy Weebler's days as a healthy six grader may be numbered. Along with his best friends, Raul Mendoza, Dory Drake and Wilbur Federson, Tommy suspects that something sinister has invaded Fillmore, California. Once Tommy's suspicions are confirmed by Kyle, the talking interplanetary bounty hunter who happens to look like a Rottweiler, it's only a matter of time before danger comes looking for The Protectinators, the team Tommy and his friends created for their own protection.
When a ghostly creature attacks Tommy in the middle of the night, it's clear that ghosts aren't the only thing The Protectinators have to fear. That prize goes to the disturbing Mr. Robbs, a middle school substitute teacher no one has ever heard of, who might not be human. After a mysterious illness strikes down Fillmore Middle School teachers and students alike, Tommy and his friends race against the clock to save the innocent lives threatened by the evil Mr.
Robbs. Do The Protectinators have any hope of defeating their unearthly foe? Maybe not. But with Kyle at their side, Tommy Weebler and his friends at least stand a fighting chance.
