As the Russian army prepares for a military exercise near the southern edge of Lake Baikal, a battle-hardened soldier comes under attack and his entire troop is wiped out. And Aleks alone survives. As he recuperates, he learns that nurse he has a crush on also likes him in return. But when Dr. Setvastyan discovers what is going on, he rips her from Aleks arms and locks the soldier up. The woman is taken from camp and placed on a train back East. Aleks is devastated and will do whatever it takes to have her back in his arms.
And with the help of his new found powers, he may just have a chance.
