Résumé

Zap! Zap! And Zap again. What if you could tell a story without words through the power of static electricity? Fluffy the newfoundland dog desperately wants to get his owner Chelsea's attention, but the young girl doesn't respond. She doesn't talk dog, so what can he do? Using the power of static electricity, he finds a mischievous way to get her to play. The result is electricity for dummies in a way you've never experienced before. Zap! is a wordless book for kids from talented author and illustrator Querida Funck.
Her expressive illustrations in this newfoundland kids book bring the hilarious tale to life in a way that will make you and your children laugh out loud. Wordless picture books for kids are a fun way to strengthen literacy by building listening skills, vocabulary, and comprehension. They gift children agency over the reading experience as they can read their interpretation of the story to you. This allows children to enjoy the books together with a parent or alone.

Biographie de Querida Funck

"From a very early age, I was taught that there were stories in art, and an art to telling stories." Querida grew up in Monroe, Wisconsin (USA). She learned to draw from her mother who was an accomplished landscape artist, and began selling portraits while still a teenager.                She turned to cartooning as a college student and wrote home in comic strip format with "The Adventures of Jacky and Sir" using the family dogs as a substitute for her adventures.  While home on break, she created pen and watercolor fashion plates for a local boutique in Monroe, Wisconsin.                After college, she became known as "Sally" the pen-named political cartoonish of "Two Cents Worth" for the Wisconsin Counties Magazine.  Her picture books was "The Christmas Leprechaun, " written as a Christmas present for her father-in-law and his grandchildren.  Years later, she would study with Caldecott Medal Winner, David McLiman, and venture into creating stories for her own grandchildren.
