This book is divided in three parts:
The first one describes the Centrafrican physical environment: geological substratum, relief and hydrology, climate and vegetation, relief and erosion, soils and ferricretes, various biodynamical factors.
The second part is a detailed description of the centrafrican landscape major units: first the Centrafrican planation level which is the Ubanguian surface and which includes the Ouadda and Gadzi-Camot sandstone plateaus; then the northwestern and northeastern reliefs of the Central African Republic are described and the piedmont which constitutes the transition with the Chadian plain towards the north - at last the southern scarp above the Ubangui-Sangha piedmont.
The last part deals with the main problems concerning the Centrafrican geomorphology, like the ferricretes, a tentative chronology of the morphogenesis and the paleoclimatic evolution in Central Africa. Then the planation levels are located in their regional context, in connexion with the various factors of the environment.
