Exodus is the true story of a young Jewish girl from Hungary who, together with other orphaned children, is left to fend forlherseif in a totally devastated country after her parents are deported by the Nazis. ln 1947 she manages to board the refugee ship, the 'Exodus', with which she is supposed to sail to Palestine together with more than 4,000 survivors of the Holocaust. A dramatic odyssey lasting weeks was to follow.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie d'Ester Shakine

Esther Shakine was born in Szeged, Hungary, in 1932, and survived the Holocaust as a child. After the war she emigrated to Israel on the refugee ship, the "Exodus", and grew up in a kibbutz. Shakine studied art in Tel-Aviv, later working as a painter, designer and illustrator. She received the Norman Arts Foundation award and was also President of the Israel Textile Artists Association.
