Résumé

The idea of this book on the great wines of Bordeaux emerged in 1992, in order to answer two questions : Which are the best wines in every vintage ? Whe, is the best moment to uncork a bottle ? Wine-lovers are increasingly demanding and do not want to be mistaken when opening an expensive bottle. They are looking for accurate and reliable information to help them to choose a bottle with complete confidence. This new edition has been significantly improved, restructured and revised up to and including 1993. For each vintage, wines have been classified into three categories : good very good, outstanding. Within each of these categories, wines are presented in order of merit. This allow a better assesment of the overall vintage quality, along with an individual and comparative evaluation of growths. This carefully prepared synthesis of a huge amount of information sheds a new light upon the hierarchy of wines, the way they will evolve, and allows the wine-lover to select a wine according to his or her own taste.
