Golder N. Wilson, MD PhD, is the Mary McDermott Cook Distinguished Professor of Pediatric Genetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he is also Director of the Division of Genetics and Metabolism. He has 20 years experience in an academic center running programs in genetic/metabolic disease and birth defects.
W. Carl Cooley, MD, has also accumulated a wealth of experience in this field, formerly as Director of the Dartmouth Center for Genetics and Child Development at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, New Hampshire, and more recently at the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, New Hampshire.
Both physicians care for children with disabilities within their own families and therefore share the concerns felt by many parents in this situation.
