What is urban citizenship ? How different is urban citizenship for women and men ? How do intersections of personal characteristics and spatial features influence these different paths ? This book tries to answer these broad questions, presenting the results of a comparative research conducted in Milan and Rotterdam, and adopting a new analytical perspective, able to take into account the spatialized and gendered dimension of urban citizenship.
Results will let emerge positive patterns as well as potential vulnerabilities among residents of selected neighbourhoods in the two cities, providing food for thoughts both for scholars and practitioners committed to a just and inclusive society.
