Victoria Hislop is the multi-million copy bestselling author of ten books, including The Island, The Return, The Thread, The Sunrise, Cartes Postales from Greece, Those Who are Loved and One August Night. Her most recent novel, The Figurine, was an instant Sunday Times hardback bestseller in 2023, and through the captivating tale of oné woman's quest to come to terms with her family's brutal past, sheds light on the questionable acquisition of antiquities and the price people will pay to possess them.
Her books have been translated into forty languages. Victoria was executive producer on the adaptations of The Island, Cartes Postales and One August Night for Greek television - and in 2021 took part in Dancing with the Stars, also on Greek television. Victoria divides her time between England and Greece and in 2020 was granted honorary citizenship by the President of Greece. She was also recently granted an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Sheffield.
She is Vice President of the British School at Athens and Patron of Knossos 2025, which has raised funds to rebuild the new research centre at one of Greece's most significant archaeological sites. She is also on the British Committee for the Reunification of the Parthenon Marbles and is an ambassador for Lepra.
