This is Bertold Hummel's (27. 11. 1925 - 09. 08. 2002) final work : popular and less known Christmas carols reduced to the basics with only one counter voice. The painter and illustrator Sepp Wurster (18. 11. 1919) had been a friend to him throughout his life ; and the illustrations within the book - though not created specifically for it - still reflect the innermost moods special to the songs in a wonderful way.
